Éilís Ní Dhuibhne was born in Dublin in 1954. Her works include Blood and Water, The Bray House, Eating Women is Not Recommended, and The Inland Ice. She has also written plays andPhoto of Eilis Ni Dhuibhne. children's books. (Éilís Ní Dhuibhne's latest collection of short stories "The Pale Gold of Alaska" and other stories were published by Blackstaff Press in September, 2000). She received Arts Council Bursaries in Literature in 1986 and 1998, and her prizes include the Bisto Book of the Year Award, the Readers Association of Ireland Award, the Stewart Parker Award, and an Oireachtas award. She works as a librarian in the National Library of Ireland and lives in County Dublin with her husband and two children.
