Photo of Bruce Holland Rogers.An award-winning author, Bruce Holland Rogers, lives in Eugene, Oregon. His work includes science fiction, fantasy, literary, mystery, and experimental fiction. 

Rogers also writes a column about the spiritual and psychological challenges of  writing fiction full-time for Speculations magazine. Many of those columns have been collected in a new book, Word Work: Surviving and Thriving as a Writer. He is a motivational speaker and trains workers and managers in creativity and practical problem-solving. He makes frequent appearances at writer's conferences.

Rogers has taught creative writing at the University of Colorado and the University of Illinois. He has taught non-credit courses for the University of Colorado, Carroll College, the University of Wisconsin, and the private Flatiron Fiction Workshop. He has received both the Bram Stoker award for best short story "Dead Boy at Your Window", which first appeared in The North American Review (November/ December 1998),  and the Nebula award for best short story "Thirteen Ways to Water" (1998).
