Paul Wagner began to dream of becoming a published
author when, as a student at Colorado State, he won a creative writing contest
conducted by the Rocky Mountain News to promote a Ronald Reagan movie. He
made his first short story sale two years later while he was a journalist in the
U.S. Navy. But on his return to civilian life, fiction writing gave way to radio
news reporting, advertising copy writing, and an extended detour into the
corporate business world. It wasn't until 1992 that his second short story made
it into print. Specializing in fiction for teenagers/young adults, his stories
have since appeared in youth magazines (such as Boy's Life), in short
story collections, and in school texts. Several also are on short story Web
sites on the Internet. His two young adult novels are The A-Club Mystery and
All Rise: The Criminal Trial of 4 Teens.
