My grandmother. M

My father's mother, Georgeanna. Her grandparents immigrated from County Tipperary, Ireland to settle in Iowa in the 1800s.

The Family Farmstead

(where my father was raised)

Photo of my great-grandparents' farmhouse. Iowa, 1800s. The woman on the far left was my grandmother's mother whose family immigrated to Iowa during Ireland's potato famine. This century farm and home no longer exists. Replaced by a housing development, the acres I remember playing on as a child did not survive the community's growth.

My father's father's family came from Wales.  His grandparents donated part of their farmland to the church for Welsh settlers to use for services in the 1800s.

The Welsh cemetery where many of my family members are buried.
